Starting in 2015 a consortium of EV chain stakeholders and educational- and research institutions will research the optimization of the roll-out of the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.

The four largest municipalities of the Netherlands and the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area have made data from public charging points available for this research. This resulted in the largest database of real charge sessions, containing data from the municipalities Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and the provinces North-Holland, Flevoland and Utrecht.

Working on this research are students from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and the University of Amsterdam, 2 PhD candidates and a number of senior researchers. The consortium partners Nuon, EV-Box, Overmorgen and oplaadpalen.nl are contributing their experience, expertise and case studies. This project is partly funded by regieorgaan SiA through the RAAK-Pro subsidy.
